CLICK HERE TO WATCH as Claudia gives us a great lesson on the history and formation of pearls, how to care for them, and when to have them re-strung!

Fun Facts About Claudia:

Beginning her career in Los Angeles as an instructor for the GIA for over 6 years, she was relocated to New York City. Soon recruited by Tiffany & Co., she began in merchandising and moved her way up from Director of Custom Design to Direct of Client Development.
During her time at Tiffany, she was a contributor for the Blue Book where she would write captions and discuss the gemology aspects of each piece. She has been a jewel at Croghan's for 9 years and we cherish her just like a precious gemstone!

Chapter 2 Review:

  • Do not submerge your pearls in water. Pearls are strung with silk, so the water will cause the silk to fray and fall apart.
  • Pearls should be the last thing you put on & the first thing you take off. They are porous and will absorb any perfumes, oils, makeup, etc. that you put on and will damage them.
  • The best way to care for pearls is to wear them! If they need a little love take a soft cloth & gently polish them without tugging the strand.
  • Every woman should own something pearl. It's a timeless staple!
